Merchant of Venice 3

Act II Scene i-iv
  1. The Prince of Morocco quickly tries to EXPLAIN his color difference and that he should not be judged by it. Why does he do this? What does this imply about his character and how does it affect Portias view on him?
The Prince of Morocco does this because he doesn’t want the princess to discriminate him just because his color and it shows that he wouldn’t discriminate anyone else because just the way he is.
  1. Launcelot and old Gobbo have a comedic moment. Explain this.
Launcelot and old Gobbo had a comedic moment because old gobbo is a blind man and he does not recognize his own son. Since old gobbo has not seen his son since he was a child and of course everyone's voice changes. When launcelot met old gobbo again, gobbo expects to hear a high pitched voice instead of a low pitched voice. So old gobbo denies that this "man" is his son.
  1. Launcelot and JESSICA share common feelings about Shylock, what are they? And why do they have this certain feeling toward him.
Launcelot and Jessica share the same feelings about Shylock because Jessica wants to be A christian and doesn't want to be a jew like shylock. Launcelot doesn't like jews.

  1. WHAT ARE THE big plans that Jessica and Lorenzo have at the end of scene iii and during scene iv?
The plans they have is that Jessica is going to become christian so that her and Lorenzo can get together and eventually get married.
  1. When is the last time you thought of escaping out of a relationship? Why did you feel this way? How did you act upon it?
I felt like escaping a relationship because the person either changed too much and I'm not used to it. I delt with it by just talking to them less and avoid them.
