Survivor G201 Edition

First of all, since my island is quite small the exploration of the Island should take a small chunk of time. For the start we would explore the island, then find means of shelter or even make one. After that we would create a fire which we would use to purify our water and may be cook our potential food. When those are established  we would start creating way for people to see us. For example, we would create a bonfire that would create a lot of smoke so that planes, boats, etc would see us. If not we would be on a daily schedule to make sure we better our chances of getting rescued.

Macbeth Rough Draft

In the story “Macbeth”, there is a man whose actions will lead him to have sleeplessness, misery, loss of love, and haunting deeds. “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare displays that people are all born good but, almost always power will taint the person and will later destroy them.

In the book “Macbeth” the main character Macbeth is a righteous character whom is noble and will do the right thing. But, later on he does deeds that completely throws his original ideals out the door. “That’s enough of that! I’ll dare do anything that’s worthy of a man. Who dared do more isn't human.” Macbeth tries to resist his wife’s scheming and goes the righteous way but, he does consider doing it. “I’m settled on it then. All my faculties shall be devoted to this terrible deed.” In the end of Macbeth trying to resist, he ends up going through with the idea of killing King Duncan. The path for Macbeth’s kinsmanship has now come to fruition, he then goes to become the new king because he is the most likely person to become king. The king’s sons weren’t there because they were in fear of being killed and left the country leaving no one to take the throne except for Macbeth. The premonition the three weird sisters gave him to the scheming of killing King duncan all came together, all for the personal gain of Macbeth. Now that Macbeth has the taste of power, what shall he do now?

Macbeth, a noble knight now a vile king and his best friend Banquo is suspicious on what he may have done to become king. Banquo realizes this because he dove into what the weird sisters had said to him and Macbeth. “Everything, just as the weird sisters promised: and I’m afraid you played a vile game to get it.” Banquo then discovers that Macbeth will die whilst not passing the throne but, Banquo will bore a line of kings. The jealousy that Banquo had suspected was soon proven after his own death. “Treachery!Run,Fleance, run! Run!run! You can revenge me. Oh villains…” Although Banquo was the best friend of Macbeth, the dirty king was afraid, paranoid, and overall not willing to let Banquo’s sons to inherit his throne. The threat of losing the throne got to Macbeth even though his reign as king was not even coming to ending. He has become afraid and protective over his kingship. The absolute power he has been given is used to taint his already tainted position.

In the end Macbeth is just a power hungry person, that used to be righteous and all good. But, the man was overcome by the power that all people try to obtain and it was ultimately his downfall. Our world creates situations like this, power is an evil that most cannot resist but, the righteous mean will hold the best outcomes.

Macbeth Act IV and V

  1. The murder of Macduff’s family shows that Macbeth has changed from a noble soldier to a crazy and paranoid king.

  1. The purpose to show the scene between Lady Macduff and her son was to show how even a soldier trying to avenge his country can still receive the hatefulness of those close to him.

  1. Malcolm tests Maduff by questioning Macduff about how kings fall and what he would do if Macbeth falls from the throne.
  1. When Macduff receives the news of the loss of his wife he felt as though he wanted to just cry but, he knows that avenging them will release him of his sorrow.

  1. Lady Macbeth’s mental condition came as a surprise because she was still in good health throughout

  1. I think that the weird sisters and Macbeth’s paranoia was ultimately responsible for his death. The weird sisters because they mislead him to think that any man that was born from a woman would die before hurting him. But, when Macduff told him that he was taken out of his dead mother and in turn it meant that he was not born from a woman.

  1. I think that Shakespeare’s opinion on Macbeth is that he wanted the worst fate for the person that had done bad for his own gains. Also, I think that Shakespeare’s opinion on Lady Macbeth is that the insanity and power don’t mix well together because in the end she died without being able to do something.

  1. Lady Macbeth’s death was completely ignored by her husband, Macbeth. He had basically didn’t think of her death as anything important. It was like dust in the wind.

  1. Macduff Reveals to Macbeth that he is doomed because a sort of “prophecy” that Macbeth heard from the weird sisters, whom have given him future insight on his ascension to kingship. In the weird sisters telling, they have said that no man born from a woman will be able to kill him and knowing that any human being comes from a female, he would easily think that he will live a full life and not be bothered. But, then Macduff comes along to overthrow him and Macbeth becomes cocky because he thinks he knows that Macduff is born from a woman but, little did he know that Macduff was born after his mother had already died.

  1. Malcolm's ascension to the throne was very significant because it was the sort of cleansing of his homeland. He sees Macbeth as a disease and he wants to rid his homeland of him.

Macbeth Act II Questions

1. She is not a cold blooded killer but, she is one of those words. She is cold hearted but,not a killer because she didn't kill anyone except our liking for her character. She shows her cold heartedness in this direct quote “From now on, I know what your love’s worth. Are you afraid to match our acts with your ambitions?” She insults Macbeth and tells him that the love that her and his love is worth absolutely nothing if you aren’t ambitious. “We fail? Just screw up your courage to the uttermost, and we won’t fail.” Yet again she shows her cold heartedness and tells Macbeth that his courage is but a small price to pay for kingship.

2.She faints in Act II to serve as a kind of magician’s tricks, doing something to draw away attention from the illusion. Macbeth killed the servants and Macbeth’s wife needed to draw attention “Oh, How I wish I hadn’t lost my self control and killed them.” In the book she pretends to faint to draw away any suspicion to Macbeth. “Help me please.[Pretending to faint].”

3. Macbeth changes his attitude pretty quickly because he tries to cover everything up and act as though he had not seen everything or done anything wrong. “If I had died an hour before this happened, I’d have lived a blessed life span.” He tries to assure the others that he is in shock as the others.  “ Who could hold back, that had a loving heart and the courage to show it?” Macbeth tells this to the others to show that he is a loyal person to Duncan and still in death, even though he killed Duncan.

4. Lady Macbeth didn't kill the king instead of Macbeth  because of the similarity King Duncan has to her father. “I’d Duncan hadnt look like my father in his sleep, I'd have done it myself.” When she learned that Macbeth had not planted to daggers in the King’s room she told him he was a coward and did it herself explaining that dead and sleeping people are like pictures of themselves. “Coward! Give me the daggers! Sleeping and dead people are like pictures of themselves.”

5.To reign as king, Macbeth needs to change his nature just as his wife said. “ Yet I’m worried about your nature.” Macbeth needs to change from a righteous soldier to a ruthless king because his kingdom will easily fall if he does things in righteous mean. “You want greatness. You are not without ambition. But you lack the ruthlessness.” Macbeth’s wife wants Macbeth to be more ruthless to make sure that his kingship will last many years.
